CEPIEC creates more international awareness at the 2014 London Book Fair

2014-04-25 11:29:02

CEPIEC participated the 43rd London Book Fair this April as a member organization of China Education Publishing & Media Group (CEPMG, booth number: I705), the largest state-owned publishing and media group in China. LBF is one of the most important events in every spring for publishing industry professionals to gather and exchange ideas. Three busy days in the fair had rewarded us with increased international awareness of our company and services among global publishers and authors.

We came to the show having more than 70 meeting appointments with publishers and distributors regarding current and future collaborations, and ended up meeting with many more than planned. Thanks for our back-lighting advertisements on CEPMG’s booth introducing our four core businesses: content import, content export, Islib.com, and Print on Demand (POD), we were able to create a direct and strong appeal to the show visitors and attract dozens of publishers and authors to walk in and discuss opportunities in China with us.

We also held a seminar during the fair on the topic of THE CHINA ACADEMIC AND EDUCATION MARKET: HOW TO REACH 10,000 CHINESE INSTITUTIONS – THE 21ST CENTURY WAY with Ms. Lynette Owen, a freelance copyright and rights consultant with a strong background in publishing. Over 20 publishers were present at the seminar such as Gardners Books and Human Kinetics. We discussed about what Chinese market is like in general, its characteristics, and how CEPIEC is well placed to effectively sell foreign contents to China. To ease publishers’ concerns about doing business in the Chinese market, we targeted some of their most worried issues ranging from piracy to the demand in China for foreign language content, and content censorship. The seminar was concluded by presenting our audience with the tremendous change and opportunity that print on demand technologies will bring to China’s foreign content market.

It is worth to mention that our knowledge about the publishing industry as a whole has been further enriched by attending other seminars and conferences at LBF, and the show organizer had a brief interview of our POD business plan during the break at the Publishing for Digital Minds Conference.
